Israel struck southern Lebanon on Monday, shortly after the Israeli army’s Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, announced that Israeli forces were striking Hezbollah targets in the area.

According to local reports, Israeli warplanes shelled the towns of Ansar and Zrariya, as well as the al-Mahmoudiya area in the Jezzine district. Additional raids hit Wadi Barghiz and Qalaat Mays in Ansar.

The escalation was accompanied by heavy aerial activity, with Israeli jets flying at medium altitude over Nabatieh and Iqlim al-Tuffah, alongside continuous drone flights over the Nabatieh area. In the Bekaa Governorate, Israeli warplanes were reported flying at low altitude over central and northern parts of the region.

Earlier on Monday, an Israeli Merkava tank positioned at a newly established site on Hamam Hill fired near a herd of cattle on a farm in Sarda, on the outskirts of Wazani in southern Lebanon.

Separately, Israeli forces were reported to be conducting maintenance work along the technical fence near a bunker outside the Maskafam site, opposite a Lebanese army checkpoint in the Odaysseh–Al-Thaghrah area.
