The Israeli army announced on Friday the assassination of a Hezbollah member in southern Lebanon following strikes in the area on Thursday and Friday.
Spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a post on X that the Israeli army launched a strike in the eastern Zawtar area in the Nabatieh district on Thursday and "eliminated a Hezbollah element who was attempting to rebuild the party's infrastructure in the area of southern Lebanon.”
For its part, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that two people were killed in two Israeli raids on southern Lebanon on Thursday night and Friday morning.
The ministry reported that Israel launched a raid on Friday morning on a truck in the town of Mansouri, a district in Sour, which killed one person. Another statement also referred to the death of a person on Thursday night in an Israeli raid on a car in the southern town of Maifadoun in the southern Nabatieh district.
Despite the ceasefire reached in November 2024 and an end to a war that lasted more than a year, Israel continues to strike Lebanon, claiming that these strikes target Hezbollah elements and weapons facilities and stressing that they will not allow Hezbollah to restore its capabilities after the war.
For its part, the Lebanese army announced last week the completion of the first phase of the Hezbollah disarmament plan, which was approved by the Lebanese government.
