Fifty days of swings, precision, and nerves of steel came to a close at the Beirut Golf Club with the Summer Doubles Golf Cup. Karim Salaam, president of both the Lebanese Federation and the club, teamed up with steering committee member Ali Zaatari to claim the title.
A Selective Course
No fewer than 60 golfers, divided into 30 teams of all ages, took part in the 2025 edition. The best players stood out during the knockout rounds leading up to the grand final. Four players earned their tickets to the final round: Salaam and Zaatari on one side, Marwan Koussa and Mohammad Safa on the other.
A Thrilling Finish
The final was neck and neck until the twelfth hole, when Salaam and Zaatari pulled ahead to beat their rivals at the finish line. Koussa and Safa finished second after a close and hard-fought battle from start to finish.
A Festive Awards Ceremony
In an atmosphere that was both elegant and electric, the closing ceremony brought together club figures and enthusiasts: Vice President Maher Beydoun, Treasurer Robert Prince, lawyer Saïb Mitraji, and Mouwafak Harb. The winners received their trophies from the officials to loud applause.
Words for the Next Generation
Karim Salaam, double winner as both player and president, saluted all participants: “This edition illustrates the vitality of our club and the Federation. Thank you to the technical teams and coaches for a season rich in local results and international performances.”
Flawless Organization
The competition was supervised by Sheikh Moussa Zain and Tony Abou Serhal, who ensured the smooth running of what will remain one of the most hotly contested editions.
