
Back on the regional stage, Lebanon shone in Amman with six podium finishes, marking a remarkable comeback in Arab karate.
After a long eclipse on the international scene, Lebanese karate made a thunderous return. At the Arab Championship held in Amman, the Lebanese team won six medals: three silver and three bronze, showcasing a clearly improved technical level.
The Heroes of the Weekend
Young Rital Darazi stood out by winning two silver medals, one in combat and the other in kata, confirming her status as a rising star.
Meanwhile, Youssef Machaka claimed a bronze medal in kata, while Loulwa Choucair added another bronze in combat.
The day before, Randa Choucair had already secured a silver medal, mirroring Lynn Kain, who earned a bronze.
The Winning Duo
Lebanon’s success also bears the mark of delegation head Elie Aoun and national coach Rami Choucair, unanimously praised for their management and meticulous preparation.
“We knew this championship would mark a turning point for Lebanese karate. The players reached peak physical condition and gave everything on the tatamis,” said a visibly proud Rami Choucair about his protégés.
On the Road to Regional Conquest
This performance confirms that Lebanese karate is finally reclaiming its place among the major nations of the discipline. Next stop: the West Asian Championship, scheduled for August 23 and 24, also in Amman, where the Lebanese delegation will aim even higher.
