On Beirut’s legendary greens, the Spring International Championship crowned two champions—one from Lebanon and one from Syria—in a battle as elegant as it was hotly contested.
The Golf Club of Lebanon, a jewel nestled in the heart of Beirut and founded in 1923, once again lived up to its reputation. Across its 400,000 m² of sculpted fairways, cradled by the spring sunshine and enhanced by recent investments, the club hosted one of the region's most prestigious competitions: the International Spring Championship.
Organized by the Lebanese Golf Federation, chaired by Karim Salaam, this tournament is one of five on the International Federation's official calendar. Over three days, it brought together 71 golfers from several countries and across all age groups, in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere.
On a 54-hole Olympic course, swings clicked, balls danced on capricious greens, and nerves were put to the test. In the end, two names stood out: Rachid Ghazzawi (Syria) in the men’s category, and Lara Bakhour (Lebanon) in the women’s. Both victories were claimed through focus, talent... and putters.
