Mohammad Karaki, the Director General of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), has requested that 27 billion Lebanese pounds be sent to hospitals through the appropriate financial services. This raises the entire sum given to hospitals since the start of December to 57 billion pounds, and for 2024, it will be approximately 207 billion pounds.
These payments are a part of NSSF's monthly commitment to provide hospitals with funding so they can carry on with their operations, provide high-quality care to insured patients, and tend to the ill, especially during this challenging time for the nation.
On another hand, Karaki reiterated his warning to hospitals not complying with NSSF-approved tariffs. He added that he had instructed hospitals’ medical and administrative monitoring departments to draw up detailed reports on these rates, with a view to taking strict measures against the establishments concerned, including stopping financial advances and terminating their contracts.
