Hezbollah-Israel War: 2,710 Dead and Over 12,000 Injured

Clashes escalated between Hezbollah and Israel on Monday, resulting in a rising death toll and massive destruction in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa, amid a cautious calm in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Southern Lebanon

The caza of Tyre witnessed heavy Israeli airstrikes, as fighter jets shelled many buildings in several neighborhoods, which resulted in seven deaths and several injuries. Civil Defense and paramedic teams continued searching for missing persons under the rubble.

A popular housing region, east of Tyre, and the Burj al-Shamali junction were also subjected to intense Israeli bombardment.

The Israeli army had called on the residents of Tyre to evacuate the targeted regions, before the city witnessed a series of violent raids.

Later in the afternoon, Israeli army spokesperson Avichae Adraee announced on his X account that the Israeli army attacked Hezbollah targets in the Tyre region.

“Warplanes attacked weapon depots, anti-armor missiles, military buildings and reconnaissance sites of various Hezbollah military units,” he added.

For his part, Israel’s Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, announced from inside a tunnel in South Lebanon that “Hezbollah’s infrastructure must not be replicated for generations.”

In the town of Tulin, the Tamriyeh mosque was the target for an Israeli raid, which killed three people.

Moreover, four others were killed in an Israeli raid on the town of Ramadiya.

Later, a heavy airstrike was recorded on the town of Borgholieh, the area between Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Alman.

Two airstrikes targeted the town of Srifa and the Shabriha road in Abbasiya, causing a fire.

Three consecutive airstrikes were reported on the town of Tayr Harfa.

In Bint Jbeil, warplanes continued bombarding the towns of Beit Lif and Tibnine, while the outskirts of Kfar Hammam witnessed heavy artillery shelling.

According to the Lebanese Army, “Israeli forces targeted an army bulldozer working on the Qalweh-Kfardounine road, which resulted in the injury of a soldier.”

Five bodies were recovered from under the rubbles of houses in the town of Shaqra, after last week’s heavy Israeli air attacks.

Additionally, the town of Khiam was subjected to five Israeli raids in less than an hour, causing fires in the region. Israeli forces also fired Merkava shells at Wadi al-Khiam and Wadi al-Asafir.

The Israeli army declared “expanding ground operations in Kfar Kila, and destroying al-Radwan force military buildings in the region.”

The city of Nabatieh was bombed, in addition to Roumine and al-Midan neighborhood in the same region.

In the old Saraya neighborhood in Nabatieh, one person was killed and three others were wounded, after warplanes targeted it with an airstrike that led to the destruction of houses, residential buildings and shops.

The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Public Health Ministry revealed that as of October 27, 2024, the total number of deaths reached 2,710, while 12,592 were wounded.

Beqaa

In the Beqaa, an Israeli strike targeted the town of al-Ram, killing nine people, and Shmestar in the caza of Baalbek, killing one person and injuring three children. Work is still ongoing to remove the rubble.

Monday afternoon, a drone attacked a motorcycle in Taraya and killed two people. A residential neighborhood in Brital was shelled, killing two people and wounding ten, some of whom are in critical condition.

Israeli warplanes raided the town of Budai twice, destroying a house and killing six people from a single family.

Taraya-Hadath was targeted by five airstrikes, resulting in an initial toll of three deaths, while rubble removal is still ongoing.
