The Lebanese Army (LAF) carried out a series of security operations, arresting multiple individuals in separate raids across Baalbek, Aley, and Batroun, according to an official statement issued Thursday.
In Baalbek, a LAF unit, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, raided homes in the town of Dar al-Wasiaa and the Sharawneh neighborhood, detaining three suspects. The detainees are accused of involvement in various crimes, including kidnapping, drug trafficking, human smuggling, and gunfire-related incidents. During the operation, the army seized weapons, ammunition, and a quantity of drugs.
In a separate operation in the Shoueifat–Aley area, another army unit, also backed by intelligence officers, arrested a man for his alleged involvement in an armed altercation. Authorities are pursuing additional suspects linked to the same case. The confiscated items were handed over to the relevant authorities, and investigations are underway under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
Additionally, the army reported the arrest of 20 Syrian nationals at the al-Madfoun checkpoint in the Batroun district for entering Lebanese territory without legal documentation.
