Hankach from Serail: Officials Must Impose a Ceasefire for the Lebanese People
Following the tripartite meeting in Ain al-Tineh on Wednesday between Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, former PSP leader Walid Joumblatt, and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, PSP MP Wael Bou Faour met with Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and Kataeb Party chief Samy Gemayel to present a "three-point national roadmap" aimed at helping Lebanon navigate the current crisis.

Today, Kataeb MP Elias Hankach and a Kataeb delegation met with Prime Minister Mikati at the Grand Serail. Hankach emphasized that "the country and its citizens can no longer endure. It is essential to stop the violence, restore political life, and rebuild our nation on new foundations."

"Officials must impose a ceasefire for the sake of the Lebanese people and prevent further destruction. The presidential election is a cornerstone for building a new Lebanon. We must comprehend the situation and transition to a functioning state," he stressed.

Hankach also warned, "This is the priority, and it is what we will focus on with other opposition parties. The Lebanese state must remain a state of law and authority; otherwise..."

Regarding the displaced, he noted, "The state has a direct responsibility to care for the displaced and provide shelter. No Lebanese should feel abandoned today."
