In its first meeting at the presidential palace in Baabda, the new government under Prime Minister Nawaf Salam designated a five-member committee tasked with drawing up the government’s policy statement, on the basis of which it would win a vote of confidence in parliament. The committee includes Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri, Finance Minister Yassin Jaber, Minister of Public Works, Fayez Rasamny, Culture Minister Ghassan Salameh and Information Minister Paul Morcos.
