Israel struck southern Lebanon on Tuesday, targeting a courtyard near a house in the town of Kafr Danin, hitting what it said was a Hezbollah terrorist.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), two people were killed in the strike and a house was destroyed. Reportedly, the Lebanese Army also recovered an Israeli drone that crashed in Odaisseh (Marjayoun).
The raid comes ahead of a “mechanism” meeting that is scheduled for Wednesday, which is tasked with halting hostilities and discussing practical steps to restore security and stability in southern Lebanon. This includes the withdrawal of Israeli forces to the southern border, the release of Lebanese detainees, and the completion of the Lebanese army’s deployment in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
The Lebanese army is implementing government measures south of the Litani River in southern Lebanon with “professionalism and precision,” President Joseph Aoun said Tuesday.
