Israeli warplanes struck multiple sites across southern and eastern Lebanon on Thursday, targeting Hezbollah military infrastructure including a compound used for training and weapons storage, the IDF said.
According to the Israeli army, the strikes dismantled militant infrastructure and launch sites where Hezbollah operatives underwent shooting exercises and trained for attacks against Israeli troops and civilians. Additional strikes targeted structures where weapons were stored and ongoing operations were conducted.
An Israeli airstrike also hit a pickup truck in the town of al-Taybeh in southern Lebanon. Israeli army spokesperson, Avichay Adraee posted on X: “The Israeli Defense Forces recently struck a Hezbollah terrorist in the al-Taybeh area of southern Lebanon”. Preliminary reports by the National News Agency said that two people were injured in the strike.
Earlier in the day, fighter jets shelled the Jabbour Heights between Alam and Zawter near the Bint Jbeil district, and carried out three consecutive airstrikes on the Zghareen area in Hermel, northern Bekaa Valley. Another strike was reported on the Boudai hills west of Baalbek.
The Israeli army emphasized that the presence of Hezbollah infrastructure constitutes a violation of understandings with Lebanon and a direct threat to Israel. “The army will continue operations to eliminate threats and prevent Hezbollah’s reestablishment,” a statement said.
