US Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack delivered a stark warning to the Iraqi government about a looming escalation in Lebanon, Saudi Television Al Hadath reported Monday, citing informed sources.

Barrack reportedly told Iraqi officials that an Israeli operation targeting Hezbollah is imminent, cautioning that any involvement by pro-Iranian Iraqi factions in support of the group would trigger “a severe response.” He added that, based on information shared with Washington, Israel intends to press ahead with its campaign in Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed.

Neither the Iraqi government nor the U.S. Embassy has issued an official statement on the reported remarks.
