The Israeli military struck sites in several south Lebanon towns on Wednesday after issuing evacuation warnings saying it would target Hezbollah.
"The Israeli army is currently striking several Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites in southern Lebanon," the Israeli army said in a brief statement after issuing evacuation warnings for sites in the southern Lebanese towns of Deir Kifa and Shehur.
It subsequently issued warnings for buildings in the towns of Ainata and Tayr Felsay, also in south Lebanon.
Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA) later said raids hit all four locations.
In messages on X, the Israeli military had posted maps identifying buildings in the towns and urging immediate evacuation, saying it would strike Hezbollah "military infrastructure... in response to Hezbollah's prohibited attempts to rebuild its activities in the area".
In a statement released Sunday evening, the Israeli army also asserted that Hezbollah “has been working to rebuild its capabilities in the village of Beit Lif in southern Lebanon, in a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon”.
Earlier Wednesday, Lebanon's health ministry said one person was killed and 11 others wounded in an Israeli strike on a vehicle in south Lebanon's Tiri that Israel said killed a Hezbollah operative.
The NNA said the man killed worked for the local municipality and said the strike took place as a university bus carrying students passed by, wounding some of those on board.
