A Hezbollah member was killed and a Syrian national wounded on Tuesday morning when an Israeli drone targeted a car traveling between Deir Aames and Siddiqin in the Tyre district, southern Lebanon. Shortly after, another Israeli strike on an excavator in the town of Yater killed one person.
Israeli Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed that the first strike eliminated Mahmoud Ali Issa, a Hezbollah operative who served as the group’s local representative in the village of Kafra. According to Adraee, Issa was responsible for coordinating between Hezbollah and village residents on both economic and military matters.
In a post on X, Adraee said Issa “worked to seize private property for terrorist purposes, such as renting houses to be used for storing weapons and surveillance equipment.”
Adraee added that the Israeli army also targeted the Zebqine area, killing another Hezbollah member operating an engineering vehicle “while attempting to rebuild infrastructure.” He said the activities of those targeted “constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” stressing that the army “will continue to work to eliminate any threat.”
Meanwhile, another raid was reported in the town of Sultaniye, while the Israeli army dropped a stun bomb over Ras Naqoura, along the southern border. An Israeli Merkava tank was also observed near Rweissat al-Alam, escorting search units on the outskirts of Kfarchouba.
Residents also reported intensive Israeli drone flights at low altitude in the early hours of the day over Beirut and its southern suburbs.
