The owner of the laser device used to project the portraits of the two Hezbollah leaders assassinated by Israel onto the Pigeon Rocks in Raouche was placed in custody on Thursday, following an order from Prosecutor General Jamal Hajjar.
The investigation into the case is ongoing to determine responsibility for violating instructions issued by the Beirut Governorate, based on a circular from Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, regarding the gathering organized by Hezbollah to commemorate the first anniversary of the assassinations of former Hezbollah Secretary-Generals Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine last Thursday.
Two individuals were questioned under the supervision of Judge Hajjar. Their identities have not been disclosed. One was released on bail under a residence guarantee, while the other, the owner of the laser device, remains in custody pending further investigation.
Three additional individuals have been summoned for questioning on Friday.
It should be recalled that on Wednesday, Judge Hajjar had issued a search warrant for two individuals who had refused to appear before the competent authorities as part of the ongoing inquiry.
The investigation into the violation of Prime Minister Salam’s decision concerning the illumination of Raouche Rock with the portraits of Nasrallah and Safieddine is continuing.
