An Israeli drone strike targeted a car this morning near a mosque between the towns of Jiyeh and Barja in the Iqlim al-Kharroub region. The target of the raid was a Hezbollah leader from the Akil family. Seriously wounded, he was first transported in a private car to a secure area, then taken by ambulance to a hospital in Beirut.
According to Israeli military radio, the army claimed the operation, stating that it targeted a vehicle in the Mount Lebanon area, about 60 kilometers from the border.
Last night, the Israeli army carried out a controlled explosion in the Khanouq area on the outskirts of the town of Aitaroun in southern Lebanon.
