Beirut International Airport Sees Strong Passenger Growth in August 2025

Beirut’s International Airport (BIA) recorded a sharp rise in activity in August, with passenger numbers rising by nearly 39 percent compared to the same month last year. Close to one million travelers (929,815) passed through the airport during the month, pushing the cumulative passenger count for the first eight months of 2025 to 4.8 million, a 9 percent increase year-on-year.

Arrivals surged by more than 60 percent to 397,517 passengers, while departures reached 532,274, up 26 percent. In contrast, transit passengers fell sharply by 87%, with only 24 travelers in transit.

The airport also reported significant growth in flight operations. A total of 6,634 flights took place in August, representing a 25 percent increase compared to August 2024. This included 3,318 inbound and 3,316 outbound flights.
