- Lebanon Says ‘I Don’t’: Weddings Plunge to Historic Low in 2025

The 2025 wedding season in Lebanon has seen an unprecedented decline, confirming the continued downturn of a sector already weakened in recent years. According to industry professionals, the number of weddings has dropped to just 35% of pre-2019 levels, compared to 50% in 2023 and 40% in 2024, resulting in a total decline of 65% over two years.
This sharp drop is largely attributed to ongoing security concerns and the impact of last year’s war, which discouraged many couples from planning their celebrations. Weddings are typically scheduled a year in advance, making the sector particularly vulnerable to instability.
A small number of lavish weddings, often exceeding $100,000, continue to attract attention on social media. However, middle-class weddings, with budgets between $20,000 and $40,000, have been the most severely affected.
There is, however, a glimmer of hope. Early bookings for 2026 suggest a potential slow recovery in the industry.
