Prime Minister Nawaf Salam arrived in Cairo on Tuesday at the head of a Lebanese delegation for an official visit to Egypt.
According to information obtained by al-Markazia news agency, the visit will focus on launching the Lebanese-Egyptian Business Council and on holding talks with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on regional and bilateral developments.
The visit had originally been scheduled for July but was postponed due to heightened Israeli-Iranian tensions, the sources said.
Salam was accompanied by Culture Minister Ghassan Salameh and Energy and Water Minister Joe Saddi. At Cairo International Airport, Salam was received by Egyptian Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi, Lebanese Ambassador to Egypt Ali Halabi and members of Lebanon’s diplomatic mission.
