Hezbollah and the Amal Movement have announced the postponement of the protest scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Riad al-Solh Square. The demonstration was planned to reaffirm the resistance’s status and arms and to oppose a recent government decision.

Sources indicated that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri intervened with Hezbollah, leading to the cancellation of the event.

In an official statement, both movements emphasized that the decision stems from national responsibility and a desire to maintain unity and stability, while allowing space for constructive dialogue on critical issues that Lebanon faces.

The statement stressed that the postponement does not reflect any change in their stance, affirming their commitment to defending Lebanon’s “sovereignty, dignity and resistance, along with its arms.”
