President Joseph Aoun affirmed on Friday that the Lebanese-Syrian borders are fully secured, stressing that the army “remains on high alert and carries out its duties with competence and diligence to ensure calm and security for citizens.”
“The situation at the border is under control, and the current climate is encouraging with respect to key issues that could help pull Lebanon out of its crises,” he added in his latest remarks.
The head of state highlighted the army’s central role in safeguarding both internal and external security, in coordination with other security institutions. This partnership, he noted, aims to strengthen trust between the state and its citizens and to preserve Lebanon’s stability against the repercussions of regional crises.
His comments come as Lebanon faces a critical period economically and politically, giving the army an even greater role in maintaining security and stability, particularly in border areas.
