Minister of Education Rima Karami said on Tuesday that schools would open their doors four days a week instead of five in the upcoming school year.
Karami made this remark during an administrative meeting attended by the Director General of Education, Fadi Yarak, alongside directors responsible for education, guidance and counseling.
The meeting touched on preparations for the new school year, including class duration, the possibility of merging classes and curriculum schedules.
Karami emphasized the need to complete transfers before the start of the school year and to prioritize securing teaching staff for all schools, taking into account those that operate two shifts: one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The minister affirmed that she would “stand by the teaching staff and principals to achieve a distinguished academic year.”
She also pointed to the centralization of standards and the decentralization of implementation through educational regions, assuring that all directives would be issued in the form of official decisions.
