The Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that driving licenses will be issued for transactions completed as of August 14, 2025, based on the receipt’s issuance center, and through prior appointment booking on the Traffic Authority’s online platform.
It is worthy to remember that Lebanon halted the issuance of new licenses in November 2022 after more than 100 employees of the Vehicle Registration Center, including Road Traffic Department head Hoda Salloum, were arrested over a corruption scheme that allegedly sold licenses without proper exams, prompting the State to shut the centers entirely.
Issuance partially resumed on June 11, 2024, but was limited to applicants who had passed both theoretical and practical exams back in 2022.
