Tourism Minister Laura Lahoud and Minister of Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Shehadeh on Tuesday launched a free smart tourism application during a press conference at the Tourism Ministry.

Designed and developed by Rodolphe Khalat and Hanna Daoud, the app serves as a personal assistant powered by artificial intelligence, offering guidance, advice, and suggestions on all aspects of tourism in Lebanon.

Lahoud hailed the initiative, calling digitization “a prerequisite for Lebanon’s recovery,” and stressed that the app “doesn’t compete with private initiatives, but rather complements and illuminates them.” Reservations and financial transactions will continue to be handled through existing private platforms.

Shehadeh praised the joint team behind the project, noting that the app contains “approximately 2,400 data points and draws information from 2,400 websites specializing in Lebanese tourism — a number that will grow over time.” He added that the platform will help small and medium-sized tourism businesses reach a wider audience, as owners can directly add information about their establishments.
