According to a statement issued by the British Embassy, “the project, funded by the UK Ministry of Defense, supports ongoing British training for various units of the Lebanese Armed Forces, including leadership development for officers, infantry skills courses and programs for female personnel.”
“The United Kingdom continues its unwavering support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, the sole legitimate defender of Lebanon, through the provision of training and equipment,” read the statement.
Dunne described the Lebanese Army’s courage in defending Lebanon internally and on its borders as “commendable.”
She expressed pride in the UK’s partnership with the Lebanese Army and its continued support for developing the Army’s capabilities.
