
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam expressed optimism about Lebanon’s international standing following a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace on Thursday.
In a post on X, Salam said he was returning to Beirut “reassured” by Macron’s commitment to supporting Lebanon across key areas.

“I return to Beirut reassured by President Macron’s commitment to help Lebanon, renew the UNIFIL force and strengthen our bilateral relations, especially in the fields of security, economy, education and culture,” the prime minister wrote.
He concluded by thanking France for its “continued support for Lebanon, its security, sovereignty and prosperity.”
