The Port of Tripoli has experienced a remarkable boost in activity since early July, according to Ahmad Tamer, Director General of Land and Maritime Transport and head of the port. Tamer reported a sharp rise in container traffic, especially over the past two days.
In a statement, he noted that nearly 4,200 standard containers were handled last Friday alone.
On Monday morning, two cargo ships, the Lotus and the Nicola, docked at the port and are expected to unload around 1,200 containers, with 800 destined for the local market.
According to the statement, July may set a historic record for container volume handled since the creation of the container terminal. Tamer said this performance reflects growing confidence among traders in the port’s efficiency and the quality of its logistical services.
