
The Lebanese Armed Forces arrested 31 Syrian nationals on Friday for illegally entering Lebanese territory, and two others for forming an armed robbery gang.
According to the statement issued by the Lebanese Army Command Directorate, the 31 Syrian nationals were attempting to enter Lebanon via the Madfoun-Batroun checkpoint. A patrol from the Intelligence Directorate in Beirut arrested two other Syrians (A.A.) and (S.A.) for forming an armed robbery gang, using drugs and illegally roaming inside Lebanese territory.
Drugs and a combat pistol were seized from them.
An investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
