Lebanon’s General Security Directorate has introduced new measures aimed at simplifying passport procedures for Lebanese citizens living abroad.
Under the updated guidelines, Lebanese expatriates holding the older blue passport – issued in or after 2003, whether expired or still valid – will now be able to replace it with a biometric passport during a visit to Lebanon. The process can be completed at any regional General Security office or at the Directorate’s Public Relations Department.
The agency also clarified that, once issued, biometric passports may be renewed at Lebanese embassies and consulates abroad, offering greater flexibility to citizens residing overseas.
