Led by a blazing Sekou Doumbouya and an inspired Stephan Moody, Sagesse suffocated Beirut Club (103–85) on Friday in Chiyah, taking a big step toward qualification. The Green Soul is back—and it’s burning again.
It’s no longer a spark—it’s a blaze. On Friday night, in a high-stakes, high-tension game, Sagesse unleashed a storm on Beirut Club, winning 103–85 at the Chiyah Sports Complex. A resounding victory that puts the Ghazir Greens up 2–1 in the series and gives them a match point at home.
In an electric atmosphere, Linos Gavriel’s men delivered their best performance of the season. Defensively unyielding, collectively strong, and offensively unleashed, they imposed their rhythm and their will—especially in a one-sided final quarter (31–15), where Beirut simply collapsed.
Doumbouya: Fire and Steel | Moody: Art and Precision
At the controls: a red-hot duo. On one side, Sekou Doumbouya—the French-Guinean with wrecking-ball shoulders—tormented the opposing defense with 28 points and 15 rebounds. On the other, Stephan Moody—the mission-driven American—lit up the floor with 25 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. One roared, the other orchestrated. The result? Beirut Club never found an answer.
Mark Khoury (16 points), Gérard Hadidian (10 points), and Omar Jamaleddine (10 points) also contributed to this fully controlled performance from Sagesse.
On Beirut’s side, Thomas Wimbush did score 27 points, and Sergio El Darwich fought hard (16 points, 7 assists, 5 steals, 2 blocks), but Jad El-Hajj’s squad broke down at the worst time—losing both the game and home-court advantage.
Ghazir Awaits the Eruption
On Sunday, the Antoine Choueiry Arena in Ghazir is set to explode for Game 4. Sagesse will have a chance to close the series at home and extinguish Beirut Club for good. Tip-off at 9:45 PM. The sacred fire has been reignited—and it burns with championship ambition.
After months of wandering and underperformance, Sagesse has rediscovered its former glory—and reassured its supporters… who had seen it all.
