Municipal Elections in South Lebanon: Jezzine Leads in Voter Turnout

Municipal and Mokhtar Elections Kick Off in South Lebanon and Nabatieh

The municipal and mokhtar elections began on Saturday at 7:00 a.m. in the governorates of South Lebanon and Nabatieh.

As of 4:00 p.m., the voter turnout, according to the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, stood at 25.49%.
The turnout by district was as follows:

Saida and Zahrani: 28.24%

Tyre: 24.77%

Jezzine: 32.26%

Nabatieh: 28.30%

Hasbaya: 25.22%

Marjayoun: 21.96%

Bint Jbeil: 19.14%

Two hours earlier, the turnout was as follows:

Saida and Zahrani: 27,66% 
Tyr: 24,63%
Jezzine: 32,21%
Nabatiyeh: 27,48 %
Hasbaya: 24,92 %
Marjayoun: 21,61 %
Bint Jbeil: 18,89%

Furthermore, the number of complaints filed has reached 173, including 150 administrative and 21 media-related complaints.

Among the most notable incidents, a candidate from the “Sour Madinati” list, Hassib Aoudeh, was reportedly assaulted at the School of Tyre. While speaking with a journalist, he was verbally harassed by supporters of the rival list. When he protested, they violently attacked him and beat him severely.
