Preparations for the fourth and final phase of the municipal process, set to take place in the South and Nabatiyeh governorates next Saturday, topped the agenda of a high-level meeting held on Tuesday at Baabda Palace.
President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun received Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. The two leaders reviewed the course of the elections and the logistical readiness ahead of the final round, stated the Lebanese Presidency on its X account.
They also discussed regional developments. Salam briefed President Aoun on the results of the Arab Summit held in Baghdad over the weekend and shared insights from his bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit.
President Aoun provided an overview of his recent diplomatic engagements, including talks in Rome on Saturday and the follow-up visit to Cairo on Monday.
