The Ministry of Interior has published partial official results for the municipal and mukhtar elections held on May 18 in the governorates of Beirut, Bekaa, and Hermel.
The results for Beirut were announced on Tuesday. The "Beirut Btejma3na" list won 23 seats while one seat was secured by Mahmud Mehyeddine el-Jamal, a candidate from the "Beirut Bethebbak" list.
While the official results for parts of the Bekaa have yet to be published on the ministry’s website, those for Zahle, Baalbeck, Hermel, West Bekaa, and Rachaya were made public on Monday evening.
This vote marked the launch of the third phase of Lebanon’s municipal and mukhtar elections, which are taking place over four weeks, staggered across various regions of the country.
Originally scheduled for 2023, the elections were postponed for two years due to the ongoing security, political, and economic crises affecting the country.
The results, including those for mukhtars and municipal councils, can be accessed at the following link: http://www.moim.gov.lb/AdsDetails.aspx?ida=5485.
The electoral process will conclude on May 24 in South Lebanon.
