Lebanon’s Ministry of Interior has released the official results of the municipal and mukhtar elections held on May 11 in the North and Akkar governorates. The full results were made available on the ministry’s website (@MOIM_Lebanon) by Thursday, May 15.

In Tripoli, the municipal results were announced on Wednesday evening, following a three-day vote-counting process. Earlier that night, the state-run National News Agency (ANI) had published preliminary figures amid a tense atmosphere, with widespread allegations of fraud and calls for a rerun of the vote.

This round of voting marked the launch of the second phase of Lebanon’s municipal and mukhtar elections, which are taking place over a four-week period across various regions of the country.

Initially scheduled for 2023, the elections were postponed for two years due to the country’s deepening security, political, and economic crises.

Full results for both municipal councils and mukhtar are available at the following link: http://www.moim.gov.lb/AdsDetails.aspx?ida=5484

The electoral process will continue in the coming weeks, with voting set for May 18 in Beirut and the Bekaa, and for May 24 in South Lebanon.
