The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) announced on Tuesday that it had taken custody of a third individual suspected of launching rockets from southern Lebanon toward Israel.
In an official statement, the LAF said the suspect, identified by the initials “Q.S.,” was handed over by Hamas at the entrance to the El Buss camp in Tyre, southern Lebanon. The army confirmed that an investigation into the rocket attacks is underway under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
This marks the third such handover in recent weeks. The LAF previously reported receiving two other Palestinian suspects from Hamas, allegedly involved in the rocket attacks on March 22 and March 28.
The military emphasized that these handovers are part of ongoing intelligence efforts aimed at identifying and detaining all individuals involved, in line with directives from the Supreme Defense Council and cabinet decisions.
These developments follow a stern warning issued last week by the Supreme Defense Council, cautioning Hamas against actions that could “affect national security.” The rocket attacks triggered retaliatory Israeli airstrikes targeting southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut, further escalating tensions along the border.
