The Lebanese Army (LAF) announced on Monday that it has taken custody of a second Palestinian member of Hamas, suspected of involvement in rocket launches from southern Lebanon toward Israel.

In a statement, the Army’s Directorate of Orientation said the individual, identified as (Y.B.), was handed over by Hamas to the Army’s Intelligence Directorate, and that an investigation has begun under the supervision of the competent judiciary.

This marks the second such handover in two days. On Sunday, the Army confirmed that Hamas had turned over a suspect at the entrance of Ain al-Helweh, a Palestinian refugee camp on the outskirts of the southern city of Saida.

The man was believed to be involved in two separate rocket attacks launched from southern Lebanon toward Israel, which occurred on March 22 and March 28.

His handover comes just days after Lebanese authorities issued a stern warning to Hamas and other factions not to undermine the country’s security.
