The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) received the third installment of Qatari fuel aid for 2025 on Monday, according to a statement shared via the army’s official account on the X platform. The fuel shipment was provided by the State of Qatar through the Qatar Fund for Development.
According to LAF, the donation is intended to bolster the army’s operational capacity amid the ongoing challenges facing the country.
This latest delivery follows a broader package of Qatari military support announced in April during the visit of President Joseph Aoun to Doha.
Following that visit, Qatari authorities pledged to supply dozens of military vehicles and committed a $60 million donation to help the army cover salary payments for its personnel, as Lebanon continues to recover from the recent conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.
Qatar, one of the world’s leading natural gas exporters, has been a consistent supporter of the Lebanese army since Lebanon plunged into an economic crisis in late 2019. Initial aid efforts included food supplies for military personnel, with financial support beginning in 2022.
