The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) announced on Wednesday that they had apprehended members of a group responsible for two recent rocket attacks launched from southern Lebanon toward Israel.

The suspects include both Lebanese and Palestinian nationals, an army statement said.

The arrests were the result of a coordinated intelligence and security operation involving the Army Intelligence Directorate, Military Police, Internal Security Forces and General Security.

“Following thorough investigations and intelligence-gathering efforts, the group responsible for the attacks was identified and apprehended,” the LAF said in the statement. The army also confirmed that several vehicles and pieces of equipment used in the attacks were seized during the operation.

All confiscated materials have been transferred to the relevant judicial authorities, and investigations remain ongoing under judicial supervision, the army added.

“Efforts are continuing to locate and arrest the remaining individuals involved in the attacks,” the statement concluded.

The rocket launches in question occurred on March 22 and March 28, 2025. The first attack was launched from the area between the towns of Kfar Tebnit and Arnoun in the Nabatieh district, while the second originated from the Qaaqaait al-Jisr area, also in Nabatieh.

The incidents heightened tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border, which has seen intermittent flare-ups in recent months amid broader regional instability.
