Overnight Israeli attacks targeted Hezbollah operatives in several locations in southern Lebanon, as Israeli troops entered the town of Adaisseh in the largest violation of the ceasefire agreement so far.

An Israeli drone launched a guided missile strike at approximately 2:00 a.m. targeting a BMW X5 SUV on the road to the town of Yater in the Bint Jbeil district, killing the driver and wounding his companion.

Israel's Channel 12 reported that the Israeli army assassinated a Hezbollah member in an attack in southern Lebanon.

Shortly afterwards another drone attacked a car in the town of Mays al-Jabal resulting in the death of one person.

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee declared on X that the Israeli army “eliminated” two Hezbollah operatives who were conducting reconnaissance operations in the Yatar and Mays al-Jabal areas of southern Lebanon, adding that “such activities constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.”

In parallel, an Israeli army force that entered Adaisseh Saturday evening withdrew after several hours, in yet another flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement.

A November 27 truce largely halted more than a year of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel, including two months of full-blown war in which Israel sent in ground troops.

Israel has continued to carry out periodic strikes on Lebanese territory since the agreement took effect.

Israel had been due to withdraw from Lebanon by February 18 after missing a January deadline, but it has kept troops at five locations it deems "strategic".

The ceasefire also required Hezbollah to pull back north of the Litani River, about 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the border, and to dismantle any remaining military infrastructure in the south.
