Israeli warplanes launched a series of surprise airstrikes on multiple locations in the South on Friday evening.
Around 20 airstrikes targeted several valleys and wooded areas on the outskirts of Zibqin, Beit Yahoun, al-Ayshiyya, al-Rihan, Ansar and al-Baysariyya.
The strikes also hit Zaghrin Hill in Jabal al-Rihan, in the Jezzine area, as well as areas between the towns of Yater and Zibqin, and the region between Aita al-Shaab and Beit Yahoun.
Israeli warplanes further targeted Wadi al-Zrariya and a valley in the town of Babiliyeh, while conducting intense, low-altitude flights over the Zahrani area.
Additional airstrikes were also recorded in Beit Yahoun and Tibnin.
Later, Israeli Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced on X that the Israeli Army “carried out airstrikes in southern Lebanon” on sites belonging to Hezbollah. “The presence of such weapons and rocket launchers in these locations is considered a threat to the State of Israel and a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” he added.
The Israeli defense minister also stated, “the Air Force is carrying out intense airstrikes to eliminate imminent threats that Hezbollah attempted to create in violation of the ceasefire.”
