An Israeli drone strike targeted a vehicle on the Hermel-Al-Qusayr road on the border with Syria on Wednesday afternoon, killing one person and injuring another.

The Israeli army’s spokesperson, Avichai Adraee, confirmed the strike in a statement posted on his official account.

“An Air Force aircraft, guided by precise intelligence, targeted a prominent Hezbollah member in the Weapons and Combat Equipment Transfer Unit (4400) in the Qusayr region of Lebanon,” read the statement.

According to Adraee, “The terrorist was targeted after repeatedly violating the agreements between Israel and Lebanon. He was involved in the transfer of weapons to Hezbollah during the war, and he was targeted while planning to carry out additional transfers.”

He further emphasized, “The 4400 Unit continues to conduct weapon transfers to Hezbollah, posing a serious threat to the security of the State of Israel. These actions constitute a significant violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon.”

In another development, Civil Defense teams recovered on Wednesday the bodies and remains of five people from the town of Deir Mimas in south Lebanon, as search operations for people who went missing during the war continue following the withdrawal of the Israeli army from border villages.

The bodies were transferred to Kafra Hospital for medical and legal examinations, including DNA testing, to confirm their identities.
