Caroline Fattal, president of the eponymous group, has secured the sixth spot in Forbes Middle East’s ranking of the 10 most influential businesswomen leading family businesses in the Middle East. She thus establishes herself as a key figure in family business in the region.
President of the Fattal Group since 2022, Caroline Fattal became the first woman to hold this position within the group, which was founded in 1897 by her great-grandfather. She joined the company in 2001 as an assistant to the general management of the F&B division, before taking over as COO four years later. She is also an angel investor and the founder of Stand for Women, an NGO advocating for women's empowerment and gender equality in the MENA region.
For this ranking, Forbes Middle East selects 10 influential businesswomen leading some of the region’s largest groups, highlighting women who have inherited family businesses across various sectors and who possess exceptional expertise. The 2025 list includes three figures based in the United Arab Emirates, two in Oman, one in Lebanon, one in Saudi Arabia, one in Egypt, one in Morocco, and one in Bahrain.
Several criteria were considered in establishing this list, including the overall impact of the leader and the company in the region, the company’s size, the leader’s achievements and performance over the past year, years of experience in the field, as well as other positions held.
It is worth noting that Forbes Middle East is a flagship publication of the Forbes group, specializing in economic news, business, finance, and leadership in the Middle East. It covers major events in the region and is also known for its rankings, such as those of billionaires, the most powerful companies, and the most influential businesswomen.
