Consumer Prices Increase by 1.1% in January

The Central Administration of Statistics (CAS) reported on Friday that Lebanon’s Consumer Price Index for January 2025 recorded a 1.1% increase, following a 0.18% decline in September 2024 compared to August 2024. This was the first increase in over a year, after record surges in 2023 (33.27% in March and 5.35% in May).

However, the index saw a 16.09% year-on-year increase, CAS stated in a press release.

The highest increases were recorded in the Nabatieh governorate (+2.62%), followed by Mount Lebanon (+1.44%), North Lebanon (+1.05%), Beirut (+0.61%), South Lebanon (+0.15%) and Beqaa (+0.07%).
