The Paris Book Festival 2025 (Festival du Livre de Paris 2025), set to take place from April 11 to 13 under the majestic glass dome of the Grand Palais, will honor Morocco, celebrating the richness and diversity of its literature. This edition promises to be exceptional, featuring contributions from over 450 publishing houses and a program filled with exciting new content.
Recognized for its linguistic and cultural diversity, the Kingdom of Morocco will be in the spotlight at the 2025 edition of the Paris Book Festival. Moroccan literature, spanning Arabic, Amazigh, French, English, and Spanish, reflects a unique cultural mosaic. Morocco’s Ambassador to France, Samira Sitaïl, highlighted the pride associated with this invitation, emphasizing "the distinctive place Morocco holds in the Francophone literary space." French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I am very happy and honored to see Morocco participate this year as the guest country of honor at the Paris Book Festival.” She also underscored the strong ties between France and Morocco, further reinforced by the "Exceptional Partnership" established during President Emmanuel Macron’s recent state visit to Morocco at the invitation of King Mohammed VI.
Spanning 330 square meters beneath the Grand Palais’ dome, the Moroccan pavilion is envisioned as an immersive and inspiring journey. Centered around the theme of the sea, it will showcase the country’s rich maritime heritage and its commitment to a sustainable and innovative future. The pavilion will feature five thematic areas: Maritime History, Hiwar (a space for dialogue and exchange), Book Signings, Youth, and Publishers & Bookstores.
A Dynamic and Diverse Program
The festival will host over 450 publishing houses—120 more than the previous edition—demonstrating the event's growing appeal. Among the exciting additions, visitors can explore Cabaret Extra!, a collaboration with the Centre Pompidou; the Grande galerie de l'adaptation (Grand Adaptation Gallery), showcasing film and TV premieres in partnership with SCELF; La Galerie de la Mer (Gallery of the Sea), organized with the Ministry of the Sea; and a dedicated Village des enfants (Children’s Village) for young readers. More than ten stages will host unique and thought-provoking discussions, turning the festival into a true celebration of books in all their forms.
