The Qatari ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman al-Thani, has announced that Qatar will soon provide extensive support to Lebanon, particularly in the economic sector. He highlighted the strong interest of Qatari investors in various industries, including electricity, oil and gas, port operations and airport management.
Speaking at a meeting with economic representatives at the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, the ambassador emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties between the two countries. The discussion centered on expanding bilateral trade, enhancing cooperation between the two countries’ private sectors and Qatar’s role in Lebanon’s reconstruction and infrastructure development.
“Our priority is to foster economic relations with Lebanon and deepen partnerships between the private sectors of both nations,” he stated.
He also underscored Qatar’s commitment to Lebanon’s security, noting that it is the largest supporter of the Lebanese Army. “Ensuring Lebanon’s stability is crucial,” he said. Additionally, he reaffirmed Qatar’s involvement in international efforts to end Israeli military control over Lebanese territory and implement UN Resolution 1701.
