Wi-Fi 7 will soon be available at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BIA). Ogero’s Managing Director, Imad Kreidieh, told This is Beirut that preparations and tests are currently underway, with the new technology set to launch in the next 2 to 3 weeks. The upgrade will be provided through Ogero’s Wi-Fi network at the airport. Kreidieh explained that while Wi-Fi 5 has been in operation at BIA for the past four years, this modernization aims to offer a significantly improved service to passengers.
Wi-Fi 7 (or IEEE 802.11be) is the latest generation of wireless technology, offering significant advancements in network performance. It delivers much faster data transmission speeds compared to previous generations, with wider channels that double the data capacity and help reduce network congestion. Additionally, Wi-Fi 7 incorporates MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technology, allowing for the simultaneous transmission and reception of more data, further enhancing overall efficiency.
