The Lebanese Army entered the town of Al-Qantara in southern Lebanon on Saturday to protect its residents following an incursion by Israeli troops.

Israeli forces reportedly raided homes and set them ablaze, sparking a wave of displacement from the area. The incursion coincided with extensive operations targeting neighborhoods in Taybeh, Al-Qantara, Aadchit Al-Qasir, and Deir Siryan.

In the town of Kfar Kila, Israeli forces demolished two residential homes, marking the second such operation in the area within a short period.

On Saturday evening, Israeli forces also conducted a demolition operation in the border town of Yaroun in the Bint Jbeil district, destroying several homes.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers vandalized and looted the fishermen's port in Naqoura, located in the western sector. Fishermen attempting to retrieve their boats and belongings, in coordination with UNIFIL, were forced to flee after Israeli soldiers prematurely opened fire, violating an agreed-upon deadline for their evacuation.

Reconstruction Efforts Stalled

Qabalan Qabalan, a member of the "Development and Liberation" bloc, called for a "unified and urgent response" to the ongoing Israeli attacks during a meeting with municipal leaders, local dignitaries, and residents in Sohmor.

"A global campaign must compel Israel to implement the ceasefire, halt its violations, and expedite its withdrawal from southern Lebanon," he stated.

Qabalan also addressed the slow pace of reconstruction in areas affected by the war. "It is the state’s duty to accelerate reconstruction efforts and begin compensating those who have suffered," he added.
