The General Directorate of General Security and the Lebanese Army launched on Tuesday recruitment campaigns for specialist officers in several fields including medicine, pharmacy, engineering and administration.
Both initiatives aim to attract qualified professionals, offering positions to civilians and military personnel alike, with applications open to both men and women.
General security recruitment details
The General Security’s recruitment drive will accept applications from December 16 to December 20, 2024. Submissions must be made in person between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM at the Da’irat al-Mir’ab in Corniche El-Nahr, Beirut. Applications will follow an alphabetical schedule based on last names.
Lebanese Army recruitment requirements
The Lebanese Army is also seeking specialist officers in various fields. Key details and criteria include:
- Applicants must have been Lebanese citizens for at least 10 years.
- Applicants must be in good health and physically strong.
- Applicants must have a clean criminal record, with no felonies, dishonorable misdemeanors, or imprisonment exceeding six months, including expunged or pardoned offenses.
- Applicants must exhibit good moral character and abstain from alcohol, drug abuse, or gambling.
- Applicants disqualified for cheating in previous Ministry of Defense examinations are not eligible.
- Candidates must sign a service contract for a specified duration.
- Upon appointment, candidates must sever ties with political parties, associations, or unions.
Age requirements by specialty:
- Captain Trainee Doctor: Must not exceed 36 years of age as of July 1, 2025, for specialties including Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Dermatology, Neurology, Cardiology, and more.
- First Lieutenant Trainee Doctor (Public Health): Must not exceed 32 years of age as of July 18, 2025.
- Second Lieutenant Trainee (Dentist, Pharmacist, or Engineer): Must not exceed 30 years of age as of July 1, 2025, for specialties in Dentistry, Pharmacy, Civil Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
