On Sunday, MP Nadim Gemayel reaffirmed that “no one is above the Lebanese state” and that “there is no other option for Hezbollah but to surrender its weapons.”
“Today, all statues of Assad, his brother, his father, and all his dynasty are falling to the dustbin of history, and we remain,” Gemayel stated during festivities in Sassine Square following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
He continued, offering his hand in “true partnership to build a real homeland whose only weapon is that of the Lebanese Army,” affirming that “we are all under the Taif Accord and Lebanese Constitution.”
Gemayel concluded, “I tell Bashir that you and all the martyrs will always be alive in us, and those who betrayed and killed you have fallen.”
